Ogier has been named Best Offshore Law Firm at the 2022 HFM Asian Services Awards.
The awards recognise and celebrate excellence in hedge fund services and have grown to become one of the most prestigious Asian awards in the industry.
Ogier’s Hong Kong practice partner Nicholas Plowman (pictured) and director in Singapore Tervinder Chal represented the firm at the Tower Ball Room, Shangri-La in Singapore to receive the award.
Nicholas said: “It is great to see our progress recognised by HFM. Our funds practice continues to be the cornerstone of our offering in Asia and our investment funds partners have received a number of individual accolades for the quality of their work and regularly surpassing client expectations. We have real depth in each of our practice areas and our legal teams work alongside Ogier Global professionals to provide the full spectrum of services.”
Ogier’s position as one of the leading hedge fund advisers was also recently confirmed by independent research by Preqin. In its ‘Service Providers in Alternative Assets’ report, published earlier in 2022, Ogier ranks as one of the top three offshore law firms across most categories.
Nicholas added: “These numbers speak volumes for the size of Ogier’s funds practice both in Asia and globally.”
Ogier’s win comes after a sustained period of strong growth for the firm in Asia including the opening of a representative office in Beijing, which makes Ogier the first offshore law firm to have a presence in the Chinese capital; and a practice for its corporate administration business, Ogier Global, in Singapore. Along with Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo, Ogier now has a presence in each of Asia’s leading financial centres. Lin Han was also promoted to partner in Ogier’s Hong Kong Funds team at the end of 2021.
