Guernsey is among 48 jurisdictions featured in a new international guide examining the legal, tax and practical considerations involved in relocation for high-net-worth individuals and families.
Published by Wolters Kluwer, International Relocation and Tax Planning for High-Net-Worth Individuals: A Legal and Lifestyle Guide for Clients and Their Advisors brings together insights from legal, tax and private client specialists around the world.
The 750-page publication explores the issues that can arise before, during and after an international relocation, including tax residency, immigration status, wealth and succession planning, family arrangements and longer-term financial objectives.
Ogier Partners Catherine Moore (pictured) and Jonathan Hughes, together with Will Austin-Vautier, Head of Channel Islands Employment and Immigration, authored the Guernsey chapter, providing an introduction to the island as a destination for internationally mobile individuals and families.
The guide is intended to help individuals and their advisers understand the considerations involved in relocating to different jurisdictions and plan accordingly.
It is aimed at high-net-worth individuals and families, alongside the private client lawyers, tax advisers, family offices, wealth managers, trustees and immigration professionals who advise them.
Edited by Jack Bernstein of Aird & Berlis LLP, the publication features contributions from practitioners across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia.
