Ogier’s legal and corporate and fiduciary teams in Jersey have advised on the combination of lithium market leaders Livent and Allkem to form Arcadium Lithium.
Arcadium Lithium becomes one of the largest integrated producers of lithium chemicals in the world.
The transaction involved the establishment of Arcadium Lithium, a Jersey-incorporated company which now serves as the main global holding vehicle for the group’s operations across the world.
Arcadium Lithium has industry-leading expertise in various forms of lithium extraction, including hard-rock mining, conventional brine extraction and direct lithium extraction, and in manufacturing lithium chemicals for high-performance applications. It operates globally and has facilities in Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Ogier, together with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, acted for Livent in respect of the merger and now acts for Arcadium Lithium in respect of ongoing matters. The Ogier legal team is led by Corporate partners Simon Dinning and Alexander Curry (pictured), alongside senior associate Alex Fisher and associate Aaron Forster.
Ogier’s corporate and fiduciary services team is led by director Vanessa Blanchet working with associate director Sylvia Lennon.
Alexander said: “The completion of this transformational merger is a significant moment in the global lithium industry. We wish Arcadium Lithium all the very best and look forward to continuing to work alongside them.”
