Matalan, one of the largest clothing and homeware retailers in the UK, will open a new franchise store in Guernsey’s St Martin’s La Grande Rue today, 31st March.
The store will be operated by SandpiperCI who told Channel Eye that they were delighted to announce they’d secured agreement to open franchised Matalan shops in both Guernsey and Jersey late last year.
Matalan is a British retailer synonymous with a wide-ranging choice of clothing and homeware at value prices,
specialising in women’s fashion, kids wear, men’s and home accessories. The organisation operates more than 200 stores across the UK and more than 40 franchise stores in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Clair Sequeira, Sandpiper’s Brand Director said: “We’re delighted to be opening a Matalan store in the heart of St Martin’s. The Guernsey store will offer an extensive range of style, quality and value clothing as well as some brilliantly priced home products.
“More importantly, the Matalan store has created ten new job roles and is a positive announcement in the current difficult retail climate. Earlier this month, we opened a similar store in Jersey which has already exceeded our expectations, we’re expecting Matalan Guernsey to be just as well received.”
