Two Jersey entrepreneurs have launched a digital platform designed to give organisations and community groups their own online space.
HX | Hive eXperience has been created by Claire Boscq and Andy Jarvis (pictured together) and is aimed at charities, associations, businesses and interest groups.
The platform brings together conversations, events, learning resources, local businesses and other community activity in one place. Its founders say the aim is to help groups build stronger relationships and give communities more control over their online presence.
The launch comes amid growing concern about loneliness and social isolation. According to the World Health Organization, around one in six people worldwide experience loneliness, with adolescents and young adults among those most affected.
Claire Boscq said: “For more than twenty years I’ve helped organisations improve Customer eXperience because experiences shape how people feel. Today, I believe our greatest challenge is no longer simply Customer eXperience. It’s Human eXperience.
“Somewhere along the way we stopped building communities and started building audiences. We’ve spent years measuring engagement, but perhaps we should have been measuring belonging. Every community already holds incredible gold: knowledge, kindness, businesses, mentors, opportunities and people who genuinely care. Our mission is to improve the Human eXperience of belonging by helping communities unlock the gold they already hold.
“We were never meant to become the product. We were meant to belong.”
Co-founder Andy Jarvis added: “Technology should quietly enable relationships rather than compete for attention. We haven’t built another social network. We’ve built trusted digital infrastructure that gives communities ownership of their own online home.
“When technology becomes simpler, safer and more purposeful, people can focus on what really matters: building relationships, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities together.”
