American lawyer Catja Carrell has joined Trust Corporation International in the role of legal officer.
While Mrs Carrell will not be providing advice to clients, she will be working closely with the existing team dedicated to developing the firm’s US offering.
She has a wealth of relevant experience to bring to her new position and to support the wider team.
The addition of a US lawyer to Trust Corporation International will boost the firm’s existing expertise and focus on providing services to clients with a US connection.
After completing her Masters of Laws (LL.M) in Taxation at New York University, Mrs Carrell moved to London where she joined law firm Butler Snow as a tax associate and focused largely on advising on US federal tax rules with respect to income, estate and gift tax issues.
She graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts and completed her legal education at Boston College Law School. She is a member of both the Massachusetts and Connecticut bars.
Trust Corporation International has had a strong US offering for some years and has an established and growing client base with existing or future US requirements. It also has an affiliated business based in Nevada.
“While Catja will not be providing legal advice, her qualifications and wealth of extremely relevant experience will bring greater depth to support our focus on developing our US offering,” said Andréa Daley Taylor, director at Trust Corporation International.
“She will be a great asset to our team, enabling us to further build on the service we are able to provide to our clients.”
Representatives of the firm recently attended the 14th Annual International Estate Planning Institute in New York, jointly staged by STEP New York and the New York State Bar Association. Trust Corporation International was gold sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.
