Deloitte in Jersey has launched a series of Non-Executive Director forums, presented by experts from its Advisory, Assurance, Audit, Consulting, and Tax teams.
At the June forum, Jersey NEDs received an update on a variety of subjects, equipping them with the knowledge they need to fully appreciate the risks and opportunities in the current business environment.
Jonathan Wiseman, Associate Partner in Audit & Assurance, moderated the session which covered the following topics:
- Productivity and Innovation – Delegates heard how Gen AI is accelerating digital transformation, innovation and productivity and were presented with Deloitte’s Trustworthy AI framework, as a backdrop to sustainable, safe, and responsible AI adoption. Presented by Simeon Moss, Consulting Director.
- Cyber – This session provided an update on the latest cyber security trends and threats, as the need for cyber in the boardroom is becoming more important due to growing and more sophisticated attacks taking place. Presented by Vojtech Brtnik, Partner within Deloitte’s Cyber practice.
- Valuations of private investments – This covered valuation trends, governance and controls including emerging focus areas in regulation. Presented by Hastings Chakanyuka, Director in Audit & Assurance.
- Tax update – The forum concluded with an update on tax related matters affecting local boards, presented by Rupert Lee and Kathryn Wintle, Directors in Deloitte’s Jersey tax team.
Deloitte’s NED programme aims to offer support via a series of briefings, helping to keep directors up to date with Board issues and to assist with responding to the challenges they face.
