Christa Feltham has joined Praxis as an Associate Director in the In-House Legal team, bringing with her 11 years of legal experience.
Based in Guernsey, Christa (pictured) will be responsible for advising the business on a wide range of legal matters including company and trust law, regulatory compliance, and international developments, drawing from her extensive knowledge in local financial services law and regulation.
She relocated to Guernsey in 2021, where she has family connections, joining offshore law firm Mordant. During her time at Mourant, she acted for trustees and beneficiaries on a wide range of trust matters and regulatory issues. Christa qualified as a solicitor with Michelmores in the UK, where she dealt with international commercial disputes and domestic regulatory work. During this period, she also gained experience in trust litigation and cross-border disputes and attended the Special Commission at the Hague for the Judgments Project.
Outside of work, Christa has also sailed professionally for the Austrian National Sailing team, being awarded one of the Austrian Sports Honour of the Year Awards and invited to join an English Sailing team. It was during her sailing contract that she continued studying law at Plymouth University, having started her studies at home in Austria at Johannes Keppler University. Christa is also a professional ambassador for Aspiring Solicitors, an organisation which promotes diversity and equality for people working in the legal sector.
Mark Biddlecombe, Head of In-House Legal, said: “Christa’s level of expertise in financial services law and regulatory compliance is an incredible asset to our team. Her appointment comes at an exciting time for the team as we develop the Group’s in house legal services.”
