Direct Input has announced the appointment of Chris Rayner as their new Account Manager.
The PR agency has strengthened its team of communications specialists to include the former journalist who has previously held posts at the BBC and the Jersey Evening Post.
Chris has worked as a journalist for over 20 years, starting his career at the BBC where he worked as the Political Reporter at BBC Radio Jersey, before moving to the Jersey Evening Post as its News Editor and then Community Editor.
While at the BBC in Jersey, Chris presented all of the station’s news programmes and was a familiar voice guiding listeners through the debates from the States Assembly and reporting on the big political stories. His career highlights include travelling to Rwanda to report on the work of Jersey Overseas Aid and covering the official visit of the Chief Minister and Bailiff to Madeira.
Chris said: “I am really looking forward to using my experience and contacts from many years working as a journalist in my new role at Direct Input. I have enjoyed working in news and am sure my insight into how a newsroom works and what journalists want will be a huge benefit to our clients.”
Laura Morel, Director at Direct Input, said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris to our team as a highly regarded journalist amongst the local media. We look after a very varied book of clients at Direct Input, from local charities to international finance organisations and I am excited to see how his input will help shape the future of the company and those clients which we service.”
