Autism Jersey’s flagship annual Golf Day fundraiser, sponsored for the third consecutive year by Hawksford, raised in excess of £21,000 to support the work of the local charity recently.
Held last month (24 August), the initiative saw a broad cross-section of local individuals and organisations taking part once again, with 24 teams participating in what was a sold-out event.
An enjoyable morning of golf with an 18-hole Stableford competition was followed by a delicious three-course lunch, prize giving, raffle and auction, all held at the stunning location of La Moye Golf Club.
This year’s fundraising means that more than £60,000 has been raised in total over the past three years, when Hawksford became the fundraising event’s sponsor. The winning teams for the Autism Jersey Golf Day 2025 were:
- 1st place: RBC Wealth Management
- 2nd place: Continuum
- 3rd place: Ogier
Lesley Harrison, Head of Charitable Services at Autism Jersey, said: “Once again, our annual Golf Day proved to be a huge success. As our flagship event, it is vitally important in terms of raising both understanding and much needed funds for Autism Jersey, so that as a charity we can continue to provide much needed services for autistic individuals and their families in the island.
“With that in mind, I’m hugely grateful for all those who took part in the event and made it such an enjoyable day, as well as those who helped organise and support the and Hawksford for their ongoing support. My congratulations also go to this year’s winners.”
James Quinn, Director at Hawksford, played in one of the teams and helped present the prizes to the winning teams alongside Autism Jersey Chairman Nick Hutchinson. James added: “I’m really pleased to be continuing our partnership with such a vital local charity for the third year running. Once again, we’ve helped to raise a significant sum of money that will help Autism Jersey continue to do such an incredible job of supporting those with, and raising awareness of, autism.
“We recognise that it remains a really challenging environment for charities, and it’s important that we continue to play our part in supporting community initiatives like this.”
