The potential impact of Brexit on local businesses and progress in the UK’s Brexit negotiations are to be put under the spotlight at the first IoD Jersey lunch club event of the year.
Allie Renison, Head of Europe and Trade Policy at the Institute of Directors, dubbed ‘Miss Brexit’ by the media, is the visiting guest speaker at the event at the Grand Jersey hotel this Tuesday (23 January).
She will provide an update on the key issues for businesses arising from Brexit negotiations, including an insight into trade opportunities for Jersey.
Allie is closely engaged with all parts of the UK government in mapping out Brexit priorities on behalf of IoD Members having previously worked as Research Director at Business for Britain, the campaign focused on renegotiating the UK’s relationship with the EU.
Before that, she advised a number of Westminster politicians on EU legislative issues, with a particular focus on trade and employment policy areas.
Chris Clark, IoD Jersey Chairman, said: “Brexit is pertinent to all businesses here in Jersey and will undoubtedly have an impact on how we do business and who we do business with, offering some challenges but also presenting real opportunities. It is a hugely complex and evolving issue, and with that in mind I’m delighted to welcome someone of Allie’s calibre to give her thoughts and insights on the subject.”
Places can be booked for the lunch on 23rd January, 12-2pm at Grand Jersey, here.
