Mill Place, a refurbished office building in St Peter Port, has opened on Rue du Pré.
The development offers a mix of flexible office suites and traditional leased office space, alongside shared facilities including meeting rooms, breakout areas and informal workspaces.
An independent café, Camilla’s at the Mill, is located on the ground floor and is open to both tenants and the public.
Chris Chilton, managing director – finance and operations at communications agency Orchard, which moved into Mill Place in March, said: “Mill Place was created to be a different type of office. We really enjoy the mix of businesses here, it makes the building a vibrant hub. It’s great to have other people moving around the space, using the meeting rooms, grabbing a coffee downstairs and interacting with one another. That sense of activity and connection is a big part of what makes Mill Place work for a business like ours.”
Semelia Hamon and Vikki Buller are co-founders of Sevoria and chose Mill Place as the base for their financial services start up.
“Flexibility is key is for new businesses,” said Semelia. “Mill Place gives us high quality office space and facilities but at the same time it does not tie us into long contracts. As we grow, we can expand into larger suites or offices easily and without compromising on the quality of our space. Being part of a vibrant business community is also beneficial for a growing company and we’re looking forward to more businesses joining us in Mill Place.”
Jo Watts, managing director of Watts Property Consultants, letting agents and property manager, said: “The aim of Mill Place was to respond to how businesses want to use office space today. We are seeing a clear shift in demand amongst smaller occupiers move away from long-term, traditional offices towards high-quality, well-designed spaces that give occupiers choice, certainty on price and flexibility to grow and access to shared meeting facilities and environments that encourage collaboration and connection. Mill Place reflects that wider trend in commercial property, putting the end user first and creating a building that supports modern ways of working.”
