The Hook has officially reopened as ‘Hook’, introducing a new concept.
Local restaurateur Sam Jarrold has gone into partnership with the restaurant’s head chef Josh Brook, and together they have revamped the popular dining spot. The new concept offers an interactive dining experience focused on high-quality, locally sourced, and ethical produce.
Inspired by dining trends in London and Europe, the restaurant will feature large sharing plates and open-fire cooking. Josh explained: “We’ve refined our approach to focus on ingredient-led dishes that are simple, well-cooked, and full of flavour.”
Sam added: “We’re looking forward to bringing this new concept to Guernsey. The emphasis is on communal dining, giving guests the freedom to explore a variety of flavours together. A set menu will also be available, and the options will change frequently to what’s in season.”
“The Hook was open for 10 years and while it was very popular, we didn’t want to get complacent. We want to keep Hook new and exciting. Our menu will feel familiar yet offer new experiences,” said Sam.
“We aim to maintain the quality and hospitality our customers expect.”
Josh added: “There’s a growing appreciation for knowing where food comes from. Our aim has always been to work with as many local suppliers as we can, but it became more complicated with the dual menu. This new, straightforward, quality-focused style allows us to use as much local produce as possible. It also gives us the flexibility to easily alter our menu. And with our new open-fire grill, we’ll be able to highlight these ingredients in new and exciting ways.”
Hook works with local producers like Grow, The Soil Farm, Forest Stores Butchers, and farmers from Sark.
