100 Artworks have gone under the hammer to raise funds for local arts charity, Guernsey Arts.
Throughout 2025, a flurry of pink envelopes have been mysteriously appearing at Guernsey Museums containing precious contents – postcard sized artworks decorated by friends of the arts.
Taking place from the 28th June at The Greenhouse Gallery, the auction features a diverse collection of original postcard-sized artworks created and donated by local creatives with wildcards also available to bid on. With bids starting from £20, the event offers art lovers a rare opportunity to own a unique piece from Island artists while directly supporting arts education, community workshops, and public art initiatives.
“Art has the power to bring people together and it’s been incredible to see all of these special artworks being posted to us from all over the Island – and beyond” said Louise Le Pelley, Partnerships Development Executive at Guernsey Arts. “Guernsey Arts has helped so many creatives since its inception in 2008 and we are so thankful to all these creatives for their support in the development of this exhibition. We decided to host an auction not only to highlight the incredible talent in our community but to also highlight the importance of funding creativity within the community. Our fundraising efforts ensure that Guernsey Arts can continue to deliver meaningful arts programmes across all disciplines, across the community and for emerging creatives of all ages and backgrounds.”
Jared Fox, Visual Design & Communications Co-Ordinator at Guernsey Arts said: “This project has highlighted to me how enthusiastic the local arts community is towards promoting the importance of the arts. It was a big ask from us for artists to remain anonymous throughout the exhibition and commissioning process, especially for works that will be sold as a donation to Guernsey Arts, each of the pieces holds a value of their own that is worth much more than exposure alone. I feel very privileged to be a part of organising the Greenhouse Gallery’s 100th exhibition and I truly believe there will be something for everyone here. It has been a pleasure to work alongside so many artists producing work for the benefit of the arts community as a whole.”
