Nearly 200 supporters and guests celebrated Les Amis’ 50th anniversary at two events held in the beautiful setting of Government House.
Welcomed by Les Amis’ Patrons, His Excellency Vice Admiral Sir Jerry Kyd and Lady Kyd, guests enjoyed welcome drinks and a delicious selection of sandwiches,
scones and cakes at the Les Amis Fif-Tea afternoon tea event.
In the evening, the charity, which supports islanders with learning disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, welcomed those who have helped and supported the charity over the past 50 years to the Les Amis Vin d’Honneur. Both events were catered for by the team at Beresford Street Kitchen and guests were entertained by musician Terry Oliver and a special performance from the Les Amis Choir.
Leslie Norman MBE, Chair and Trustee, commented: “So far, 2025 has been a particularly special year for us and it’s been humbling to receive so many messages of support. We were delighted to celebrate with so many people at Government House, many of whom have given their time or helped us raise the funds we need to provide our services.
“Demand for our services continues to rise and we are excited that we are moving forward with our specialist nursing and complex needs facility in Trinity that will also allow us to provide end of life care. Thank you to all of those who celebrated with us and continue to support our work. We look forward to sharing more exciting news soon.”
