Jumpman Gaming has continued its support of Guernsey Trees for Life with a second year of planting trees at Le Guet as part of the business’ plan to support Guernsey’s effort in becoming a ‘green island’.

Last year, the gaming firm committed to supporting Guernsey Trees for Life for three years. Jumpman Gaming’s donation has funded the planting of 150 trees at Le Guet so far, with the team helping to plant 50 trees at Le Guet last week.

Andy McCutcheon, from Guernsey Trees for Life, said: “With the support from Jumpman Gaming, we have planted 10 Scots Pine, 10 Maritine Pine, 10 Silver Birch, 10 Hazel and 10 English Oak this year, all of which will help to increase biodiversity within the area and contribute to keeping one of Guernsey’s iconic landmark a space for our important woodland habitat and wildlife.

“Protecting and enhancing green spaces like Le Guet for future generations is essential as part of Guernsey’s efforts to tackling climate change. Donations like this from Jumpman are crucial to achieve these goals.”

No trees will be cut down as part of the scheme, but with many of Le Guet’s current trees approaching the end of their natural life, the combined efforts of Jumpman Gaming and Guernsey Trees for Life will retain the island’s natural spaces.

Kris Kukula, Managing Director at Jumpman Gaming, said: “We believe it’s important to give back to our community and environment in any way we can. We encourage everyone to consider how they can support the community in working towards a greener island.”
