JTC shortlisted in employee share ownership awards

Global professional services provider JTC has been shortlisted for an award recognising its success in championing the concept of employee shared ownership and making it the foundation of its culture.

JTC is named as a finalist in the ‘Best Overall Performance in Fostering Employee Share Ownership’ category for companies with between 501 and 5,000 employees at this year’s ProShare Awards, with winners set to be announced at a ceremony in London in early December.

The awards celebrate excellence in the communication of employee share plans and the fostering of wider employee share ownership. Past winners of the awards include a range of international and household names across diverse sectors from retail, lifestyle and technology to transport, property and financial services.

Shared ownership for all employees lies at the heart of JTC’s culture and is a key differentiator in the professional services markets where it operates. In addition to supporting the delivery of client service excellence, JTC believes that its shared ownership model encourages greater employee engagement, whilst its approach to shared ownership has attracted international recognition and in 2019 became the subject of a Harvard Business School case study for their world-renowned MBA programme.

Earlier this year, the business announced that it had granted share awards worth over £20m to its global workforce as part of its long-established shared ownership programme having created its first employee benefit trust in 1998. Since then, JTC has created over £200m of value for its employee owners, with much of that still held in the company. The business listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2018 and current employees own around a fifth of the issued share capital.

Nigel Le Quesne, CEO of JTC, said: “The ethos of shared ownership for all our people has been at the heart of JTC for over 23 years now and I’m both proud and delighted that our efforts to champion the virtues in this powerful concept have been recognised through these awards. The value of our people and our culture has really shone through over the past eighteen months in particular, underlining why we continue to protect universal and long-term and employee shared ownership as part of JTC’s DNA.”
