The JSPCA has appointed Lisa Springate as its new President following its Annual General Meeting, held on 29 April 2026.
Lisa (pictured) takes over from Ben Shenton, who steps down after six years in the role. She thanked Ben and the outgoing committee members for their hard work, commitment and steady leadership, and for helping to create a strong foundation on which the new committee can build.
The AGM also saw a number of new committee members elected, alongside George de Sousa, who remains on the committee in his new role as Vice President.
The new committee members are:
- Lisa Springate, President
- George de Sousa, Vice President
- Jay Parmar, Honorary Treasurer
- Cristina Sellares, Animal Welfare and Education
- Paul Byrne, Corporate Governance
- Yvonne Corbin, Marketing
- Sandy Moretta, Events
- Elenor Bouchet, PR and Communications
- Richard Beaugie, Operations
Each committee member brings valuable skills and experience, which will support the executive team under the leadership of CEO Pam Aubert, who is shortly due to celebrate her first anniversary in the role.
Lisa Springate, President of the JSPCA, said: “I am honoured to take on the role of President and would like to thank Ben and the outgoing committee for all they have done over the past six years. They have helped create a strong foundation for the charity, and the new committee is looking forward to building on that.
“We have a great mix of skills and experience, and our focus now is on supporting Pam and the team, listening to our members, and helping the JSPCA continue to play an important role in Island life.”
Pam Aubert, CEO of the JSPCA, said: “I am really looking forward to working with Lisa and the new committee as we move into this next chapter for the JSPCA. Their skills, energy and experience will be a real support to our staff, volunteers, members and, most importantly, the animals in our care.
“As I approach my first year as CEO, I feel positive about the future and grateful to have such a committed committee alongside us.”
