The Jersey Young Enterprise Board wish to thank the local community for all of their support during the student application process.
The Board is pleased to confirm that the Company Program for 2020-21 will proceed with three teams, which will be supported by three experienced firms each of whom will fulfil a Business Advisor1 role.
Eamon Fenlon, Chairman of the Jersey Young Enterprise Board said: “We are very pleased to confirm that through the great work of the Local Area Board, Deborah Midgley as the Student Liaison, the schools, parents, the local business community and the resilience shown by the students themselves, we received 35 student applications for this year’s Company Program. The volume of applications received means that Jersey Young Enterprise can support three local student teams who will participate in this year’s competition.
“As in prior years, those teams will be supported by experienced Business Advisors. This year, we are pleased to confirm that the Advisors will be from the following firms:
- Royal Bank of Canada
- G4S
- Barclays
“Jersey Young Enterprise is proud to be associated with these businesses who openly support and encourage their staff to mentor via Young Enterprise.”
Lesley Mourant – Business Advisor Liaison commented: “The contribution made by the Business Advisors is an essential element of the program. The Board and I are very grateful to the dedication and the commitment of each individual Advisor who have committed to supporting their assigned student teams on a weekly basis throughout the program. As many of the Business Advisors are returning volunteers, we are confident that the students will be very ably supported as they incorporate their new businesses and develop these over the next few months.
“The Business Advisors, supported by the Board and the business community, will actively seek to ensure that the local students develop functional skills to learn and adapt to the challenges of conducting business in a stressed environment.
“The main themes the Business Advisors will be seeking to develop with the students this year are change, resilience and agility. We wish the Business Advisors and the students every success in their Young Enterprise 2020-21 journey.”
