Jersey Community Foundation is launching a public consultation on Jersey’s first Philanthropy Policy, inviting Islanders to have their say on how the Island can make the most of its strong culture of giving.
The Government of Jersey endorsed the development of the policy in autumn 2025, with JCF leading the work in partnership with Government and organisations and individuals from across the charity, philanthropy, finance, business and community sectors.
JCF has worked closely with Jersey-based impact economics firm DERROS throughout the development of the policy, drawing on their expertise in research, stakeholder engagement, impact analysis and policy development
The aim is to develop a long-term framework that helps philanthropy make the greatest possible difference to Islanders, making it easier to give, helping donors understand local need, strengthening the charitable sector, encouraging stronger partnerships and improving understanding of the difference philanthropy can make.
JCF’s Chief Executive, Anna Terry (pictured), said: “Jersey already has a strong tradition of generosity, as well as many of the ingredients needed to develop a thriving philanthropic community. The Philanthropy Policy is about building on those strengths rather than starting again.
“We are looking at how we can make giving easier, connect philanthropy more closely with local need and create stronger partnerships between Government, charities, businesses and donors.
“We want to hear from Islanders and understand what they think could help philanthropy make an even greater contribution to Jersey.”
