Jersey-founded property technology company Hiizzy is targeting Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds as its first major UK growth market.
The platform allows homeowners to sell directly to buyers for a fixed fee, without commission. It aims to bring property information, legal documents and searches together at the point of listing, helping buyers and sellers access information earlier in the process.
Hiizzy won the Start-up category at last year’s Jersey Tech Awards. Its northern England campaign forms part of plans to develop the business before expanding nationally.
Allan Wood, co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Hiizzy, said: “Consumers across the region are already accustomed to using digital services to research, compare and make significant purchasing decisions. This creates a strong foundation for a more technology-led approach to buying and selling property in a more transparent, efficient and accessible way – providing an appealing alternative for those who want greater control of their sale.”
The idea for the business came from a property transaction between the founders’ families, when Allan’s son bought a home owned by co-founder Lewis Buckley’s fiancée.
The company is also an event partner for the Jersey International Real Estate Conference on 1 October, which will explore opportunities in the UK property market and links with Jersey’s investment community.
Allan said: “Hiizzy is taking a different approach by capturing as much information as possible when a home first comes onto the market. We believe that is the earliest practical opportunity to get a property transaction-ready and capture the information needed further down the line.”
