Staff at a Jersey financial services charity have raised £1,000 for homeless charity, The Shelter Trust.
Volunteers from Moore Stephens also helped out at the charity’s annual soup kitchen.
The Shelter Trust provides accommodation, food and support for between 70 and 105 people in the homeless community each night over four sites in Jersey.
John Hodge from the charity said: “These funds will be of great benefit to the local community, and it is great to see a local business getting into the spirit of giving.”
Moore Stephens ran a shelter week when employees did all they could to rally donations. This included a staff raffle where the top prize was a day’s annual leave and a designated donation area was set up where staff could leave items that appeared on the Trust’s ‘wish list’.
Six volunteers went to help at the Trust’s annual soup kitchen in the Royal Square. The team raised £558 through raffle tickets, £292 from staff contributions and a cash donation of £150 was given by an employee, bringing the total to £1,000.
