The IoD Jersey Director of the Year Awards are open for nominations to celebrate the Island’s most inspiring and successful leaders.

This year, the black-tie awards ceremony is being expanded after the prestigious event repeatedly sold out in previous years. The Awards, which will be held on 19th October and Sponsored by Appleby Jersey, will be held at the Royal Jersey Showground.

The Director of the Year Awards feature ten categories from small and family organisations, directors who excel in equality, diversity and inclusion, to large business leaders.

The 10 Award Categories are:

  • Director of the Year – Large Business (over £10 million turnover)
  • Director of the Year – SME Business (under £10 million turnover)
  • Family Business Director of the Year
  • Start-up Director of the Year
  • Third Sector Director of the Year
  • Public Sector Director of the Year
  • Young Director of the Year
  • Director of the Year – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Director of the Year – Sustainability
  • Non-Executive Director of the Year

Nominations open Monday 20th March and close Friday 30th June. It only takes two minutes to nominate online and nominations can remain anonymous if you choose. To nominate someone for an award, please visit here.

IoD Jersey Chair, Natasha Egré, said: “The Director of the Year Awards are one of the highlights of the business calendar in Jersey, allowing us to celebrate the best of those who lead our organisations across industries, the third sector, and in the public sector. I encourage everyone to take some time to think about leaders who have really made a difference over the past year. If you know someone who has led with resilience, authenticity, and innovation, then it’s essential that you nominate them and ensure they get the recognition they deserve.”

Chair of the judges will again be Kevin Keen (Former CEO, Jersey Post, non-exec Chairman at Jersey Water, CEO JSPCA, non-exec Visit Jersey and Co-founder Leadership Jersey). Following the independent and confidential judging process, a shortlist will be announced in August, ahead of the Gala awards dinner on October 19th.

James Gaudin, Manager Partner, Appleby Jersey said: “Appleby is about to enter our twelfth year as Gold Sponsor of the IoD Director of the Year Awards, which demonstrates our commitment to the IoD and Jersey’s leadership community. We are a business focused on nurturing and developing talented leaders and we recognise the inherent value of these awards to Jersey businesses. This sponsorship and our partnership with the IoD is incredibly important to our firm.”

The Gala Awards dinner is being held on Thursday 19th October at the Royal Jersey Showground.
