Staff at a Jersey shop are taking away one of the jobs on your to-do list today: they’ll gift wrap your presents.
If you’re buying tech from JT’s High Street store during this evening’s late night shopping, workers have volunteered to take on the task in exchange for a donation to their chosen charity of the year: the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association.
Tamara O’Brien, Head of Customer Experience said: “This is a great initiative which was thought up by our staff to help raise more money for our chosen charity. We’ve already raised £8,000 this year and we really hope customers will take advantage of this. People are giving up their own time to do the wrapping.”
One of those giving up their time is Natasha Marriott from the marketing team: “It’s great to volunteer to join our customer service team in King Street throughout the Christmas period. I really enjoy speaking with customers and helping them make their Christmas gift extra special.”
The gift wrapping will take place near the entrance of the shop, where staff will be ready with wrapping paper and plenty of festive ribbon.
Mark Blamey, from the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, said: “We are all so busy at this time of year and wrapping gifts can be a daunting task. I hope shoppers take up the opportunity to get their items gift-wrapped by JT and in doing so raise some money for the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association this Christmas.”
The Christmas gift wrapping runs tonight (Thursday) from 5pm to 8pm.
