Guernsey-based Alasdair McLaren, IQ-EQ’s Regional Head of Private Wealth for the UK, Ireland and Crown Dependencies, has been recognised for his leadership by eprivateclient.
eprivateclient’s 50 Most influential list ranks key players in the private wealth sector across the UK and Crown Dependencies.
Throughout his 30+ years in the sector, spanning the UK and Caribbean as well as Guernsey, Alasdair (pictured) has developed experience in serving ultra-high-net-worth families with complex wealth structuring requirements. Among those who nominated him for the 50 Most Influential recognition, one peer said: “Clients trust Alasdair, not only as a professional, but as an ally to help them resolve difficult issues and add real value to the relationship.”
Since joining IQ-EQ in 2014, Alasdair’s stellar track record of performance, paired with his commitment to both his work at IQ-EQ and the wider industry, have earned him successive promotions – from Cient Services Director to Head of Private Wealth for Guernsey in 2019, then to the newly created role of Regional Head of Private Wealth for the UK, Ireland and Crown Dependencies in 2022.
Alasdair is a committed and respected thought leader of the Guernsey fiduciary community, and regularly speaks at industry conferences, such as Guernsey Finance events, and previously chaired the annual Guernsey STEP conference.
The recognition from eprivateclient notably comes hot on the heels of Alasdair’s inclusion in the 2023 Private Client Global Elite Directory, which showcases the top private wealth professionals worldwide, as chosen by their own industry peers.
Success for IQ-EQ Guernsey continued last week when the jurisdiction won ‘Gold’ in the 2023 Citywealth IFC Awards, which highlight excellence among the advisers and managers in the private wealth sector across the world’s major international financial centres.
