As part of IQ-EQ’s commitment to developing their global talent within the business, the Group have launched the ‘Shadow Group Management Team (GMT)’.
The initiative, directly sponsored by Group CEO Mark Pesco and supported by the GMT, provides hands-on executive experience to high-performing employees. The year-long project aims to inspire the current GMT with fresh perspectives, diversity of thought and renewed drive to deliver success.
Jacques Vermeulen, IQ-EQ’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Guernsey, was appointed as the Shadow Group Chief Commercial Officer, which will see him work closely with the Group CCO, Emma Crabtree over the next 12 months.
The team of 13 Shadow GMT members met for the first time in October, where they spent three days at an offsite in London. Together, they defined their purpose as ‘connect, influence, and make a difference’ and spent time planning 2024 projects with the GMT, taking part in team building exercises, and enjoyed a relaxing (and apparently, competitive!) cooking masterclass evening.
Commenting on the experience, Jacques said: “I’m honoured to be appointed as the Shadow Group CCO and to work alongside such a talented team. It’s a testament to our Guernsey business that we have a seat at the table amongst our global colleagues. I’m excited to see what we can deliver together.”
