Independent university expert David Hawkins specialises in advising students and their families on international university options, and he will be in Guernsey for two days this week. David supports students looking to study in the USA, UK, Canada and Europe.
David is visiting the island to offer guidance and advice to local students and their families and will give a presentation to students at the Grammar School as well as hosting an event that all interested parties can attend.
David said: “Studying internationally is not for everybody, but as soon as students know more about how different their university experience can be, they will be able to make more informed choices which are ideal for them.”
“Having studied internationally provides character traits which are very attractive to employers and will add value to future employment applications. With many international universities seeing career placement – and career advancement – as part and parcel of what they do for their current and former students, studying internationally can be the ticket to an amazing future.”
Guernsey students are able to take their States of Guernsey university grant to a non-UK university, which is a benefit their UK counterparts do not have.
David will be visiting Guernsey this week and will be hosting an informative drinks reception in St Peter Port tomorrow, Wednesday 18 September from 5-7pm; if you would like to attend please contact [email protected].
