HSBC is helping people working in the hospitality industry with their personal banking skills, as part of the Bank’s sponsorship of the Jersey Hospitality Association (JHA).
The sponsorship will see HSBC help business owners and their employees in the hospitality sector with their financial literacy and financial wellbeing. Specifically, the Bank will be helping the JHA by providing financial support in the form of financial wellbeing clinics over the course of the year. HSBC will also be providing first point of contact banking for all hospitality employees arriving on the Island, enabling these people to settle in Jersey more easily.
Monthly financial articles and presentations will be delivered via the JHA newsletter to the Association’s 4500 employees, and the Bank will also make specific banking offers available to JHA employees through the year.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Tania Sobey, Jersey Head of Wealth and Personal Banking, said: “Our sponsorship of the JHA is so important for both us and the hospitality industry. Jersey thrives on the wonderful array of hotels, restaurants, and bars we have and we need to support those working within it, empowering them to make sensible decisions with their personal finances – particularly now when the future may feel more uncertain.
“HSBC is pleased to be able to provide this support and help the hospitality industry in a very targeted and educational manner. We look forward to working with the JHA business owners and employees to try and make a positive difference to their financial wellbeing.”
Simon Soar, CEO, Jersey Hospitality Association, said: “The JHA are delighted to have HSBC come on board as a Platinum Partner. It will provide a great opportunity for the industry to strengthen its relationship with such a key member of the banking sector and we are greatly looking forward to the partnership. There are a range of products that HSBC can support the industry and its employees with, backed up by a wealth of knowledge that can help improve day to day lives.”
