For the third year running, the Sustainable Business Initiative (SBI) of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce are calling for businesses to fill out their annual Business Sustainability Survey.
SBI will be once again collecting data on environmental issues which will inform the group’s work with the Government and benchmark Guernsey businesses against the UK.
The survey looks to explore how important sustainability is to your business, why you care about environmental issues, what your business is currently doing regarding sustainability, among other questions.
Rollo de Sausmarez, Co-lead of Sustainable Business Initiative, says: “We want to do this to understand Guernsey businesses’ views on their environmental impact, what they have in place already in regard to climate change or are planning to do, and how that changes over time.
“It’s important to conduct this survey every year so we can see how responses change over time, and where we can celebrate changes and react to areas of concern. We need to understand how far Guernsey businesses are prepared to consider their environmental impact and act to mitigate it. There is an opportunity to be leaders in sustainability and show the world and conversely there is great risk in inaction.”
Jennifer Strachan, Co-lead of SBI said “Last year’s survey highlighted that over 84% of Guernsey businesses see sustainability as somewhat or very important to them, yet there is still an interest in learning more about how to do this. As a result SBI will be focusing on a range of events in 2022 to help develop this understanding and support.”
Completing the survey takes 5 minutes and can be found here.
It closes at the end of March. SBI encourages all Guernsey businesses to complete the survey, small or large, active in sustainability or yet to take any steps.
