Guests and staff at Jersey’s two Hand Picked Hotels have been giving some local families a helping hand.
After selecting Brighter Futures as their charity of choice for 2023, the teams at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa have hosted several events to raise both funds for and awareness of the charity that supports parents, carers, children and young people in the island.
Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa raced to help the charity by hosting a Cheltenham Gold Cup and a Royal Ascot race day, two great fun and exceptionally popular events, organised by Island Fever Events.
L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa catered for both families and corporate guests as the Brighter Futures team revealed a beautiful floral logo display at the newly refurbished Howard Davies Hall earlier this summer.
Grand Jersey also provided refreshments for the charity team walking in memory of their former CEO Ruth Brunton, who passed away in February.
At L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa a wonderful afternoon tea was organised as a thank you to fourteen of Brighter Futures’ staff who were recognised for their long service to the charity.
At the end of the year Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa’s chef Nic Valmagna will be creating some festive treats for the hotel’s big Christmas market in December with a slice of the proceeds all set for the charity, who will also be in attendance.
The hotels have also donated lunch, afternoon tea and fine dining vouchers as well as spa vouchers as prizes at various events including the popular White Collar Darts event, all helping to raise additional funds for their chosen charity.
Simon Miller Regional General Manager, Channel Islands said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Brighter Futures. Our teams in both hotels have been really committed to making this a great year for the charity as it celebrates its crystal anniversary and to be helping families with real difficulties and challenges in their lives. We have been supporting the charity however we can.”
Brighter Futures which is based at The Bridge provides key worker support working alongside the main carer to promote and support child development, parent/ carer-child relationships and family health and wellbeing.
Sarah Nibbs, Fundraising, Events and Partnerships Manager for Brighter Futures, said: “We feel very fortunate to have such a secure and supportive working relationship with Hand Picked Hotels and greatly appreciate the many ways in which all the team have helped us, and learned more about us, this year.“
