Hand Picked Hotels has announced that all five of its Channel Islands properties have achieved Green Tourism accreditation.
Green Tourism assesses businesses against rigorous criteria grouped under the three pillars of people, place and planet. Hand Picked Hotels is at the beginning of its journey towards championing sustainable tourism.
Working with a sustainability certification partner for travel, tourism and hospitality businesses, the group aims to embed responsible, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices across its properties and the wider tourism sector. Each property is assessed and awarded a Gold, Silver, or Bronze rating based on its performance.
Within the Channel Islands, Fermain Valley Hotel, St Pierre Park Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and Braye Beach Hotel achieved Silver status. L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa achieved Bronze.
Julia Hands, Chairman of Hand Picked Hotels, said: “We are delighted that our collection of Hand Picked Hotels has been recognised by Green Tourism for our commitment to more responsible and sustainable hospitality. This accreditation marks an encouraging first milestone on our journey and reflects the passion of our teams across our hotels who are helping us make meaningful progress towards a more sustainable future for our guests, our colleagues and the places we call home.”
