Celebrity chef James Martin will showcase the food scene on Jersey and Guernsey in a new TV show.

James Martin’s Islands to Highlands, which started on 6 April on ITV, follows the chef on a culinary adventure across the British Isles.

Jersey will feature in episode four, which will see James joined by Michelin-starred chef Mark Jordan on a mini motor bike ride around the island.

Jersey’s most famous export, the Jersey Royal potato, will be on the menu, as James uses them to cook up a squid risotto with a difference, while while Mark gets a lesson in oyster shucking.

‘So the secret is out…James Martin’s Islands to Highlands new series started today on ITV at 2pm. And guess who will be showcasing Jersey and Guernsey on 2 separate episodes this week?’ said Mark, who owns Jersey restaurant Mark Jordan at the Beach.

‘Tune in on Thursday 9th to watch James and me riding monkey bikes around Jersey and visiting food producers. On Friday the 10th James and myself again on bikes discovering this time our neighbouring island of Guernsey. It will be a fun island. Stay home, stay safe and enjoy the show,’

In Guernsey, which features in episode 5, James and Mark sample local speciality Gache cake, cook with Guernsey’s dairy produce, and take on a fishing challenge.
