Voisin Law is helping cultivate a project for budding gardeners and their parents and carers.
The local law firm has funded the entire cost of hiring a minibus and a driver to take fourteen families and the team from Brighter Futures out each week so they can get digging, planting and learn more about gardening.
Over the coming weeks, they will be heading back and forth from the Bridge, home to Brighter Futures, to their Garden project at the Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society (RJAHS) where they will spend the mornings working outside, keeping an eye on their plants, watching them grow and keeping the weeds at bay.
Last week Partner at Voisin Law Kate Anderson and Georgina Jeffries who is Head of Marketing, joined the green-fingered group to see how the ten-week project has been coming to life.
Kate said: “We were delighted to see the project in full swing and meet the Gardening Club. The Brighter Future families and the charity’s volunteers have been doing a great job introducing the children to the joys of gardening and growing their own fruit and veg. It was fantastic to hear the families talk about the Jersey Royals that the children were able to grow, harvest and take home to cook and the pumpkins they are planting ready for Halloween!”
Commenting on the sponsorship from Voisin Law, Brighter Futures Community Engagement Officer Sharon Betts said: “We are so grateful for the support of Voisin Law which means we can transport our families safely, enjoy time together, and introduce a new dimension to appreciate the great outdoors”
