Ice Skate Jersey, sponsored by Sure, will be returning to Fort Regent this Christmas.
2018 will be the eighth year that Ice Skate Jersey has operated an ice rink at Christmas on the island and Sure has been principal sponsor of the initiative since its launch.
The rink is made of real ice 100mm thick, chilled to -5.6˚, is 750m2 in size and includes a dedicated rink for children and for lessons.
A professional ice skating instructor will be coming to the island for the school holidays and one-on-one or group lessons will be available to book.
Friday and Saturday evenings at the rink will feature DJ sessions with enhanced lighting and sound.
The ‘Festive Fort’ at Fort Regent will be taking place with a variety of fun activities for all the family including interactive experiences and Christmas-themed activities. More information about the activities will be announced in the coming weeks.
Sure’s head of marketing, Francesca Vadher, said: “Ice Skate Jersey has become an established feature in the winter calendar for many islanders and we’re pleased to be supporting the event again this year.
“We always want to give something back to the community and the ice rink is a fantastic seasonal event that we know many islanders really enjoy. We’re glad that it’s back for 2018 and know it’s a key part of bringing some Christmas spirit to the island.”
Keith Halstead of Ice Skate Jersey said: “We are very excited that Ice Skate Jersey will be returning to Fort Regent this December with the continued support of our long-term sponsor Sure. We’re looking forward to welcoming islanders back on the ice in the run up to Christmas and into the New Year.”
Ice Skate Jersey will run from 7 December 2018 until 13 January 2019 and will again be open to the public as well as available to hire for corporate events and private parties. Tickets can be purchased on the day and in advance from Monday 3 December at the Ice Skate Jersey ticket booth within the piazza at Fort Regent.
