First Choice Groceries has given two local charities a much-needed cash boost and is helping them cut the cost of their weekly shop.
The online retailer has donated £650 to both Jersey Women’s Refuge and JSPCA since launching at the end of last year and has been delivering fresh fruit and vegetables and other useful items to them every week.
Commenting on the partnerships, director of First Choice Groceries Jake Shaw said: “We’re delighted these two brilliant local organisations are our charities of choice, one that is committed to helping vulnerable Islanders and the other looking after our sick and unwanted animals.
“The JSPCA say they will be using the funds to buy two new Incubators and as a team of animal lovers, we’re thrilled to be able to help with this”.
Backed by one of Jersey’s largest and most long-standing ecommerce groups, First Choice Groceries launched with the aim of becoming the island’s first choice online grocery store, offering islanders choice, quality and value as never before. It is committed to its partnership with local suppliers, offering high-quality seasonal produce produced locally.
Jake added: “We would encourage everyone who can to support charitable causes, particularly at this time when so many have seen their fundraising plummet because of the Covid-19 pandemic. We’re committed to supporting Jersey Women’s Refuge and JSPCA as much as we can!”
