We hear a lot about woeful turnouts for parish assemblies and elections.
Well tonight’s your night to take up the mantle of power in St Helier with nine vacancies up for grabs.
The parish is looking for five members to join the St Helier Roads Committee, a Vingtaine of two St Helier Roads Inspectors, and at least two Rates Assessors.
The successful candidates will serve three-year terms.
The parish assembly begins tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm at the Town Hall.
Candidates need to be on the St Helier electoral or rates register, be aged 18 or over, and be proposed and seconded from the floor on the evening by members of the parish assembly.
