Fiona Morton has been promoted to Associate Partner at EY in the Channel Islands.
Fiona joined EY in 2000 as a Law graduate from UCL and became a fully qualified chartered accountant in 2003. During her time at EY, she has gained significant experience within the wealth & asset management industry, predominately with private equity and listed funds. As well as her experience in Guernsey, Fiona also spent time in London taking part in EY’s secondment programme, gaining further understanding and exposure to the wealth & asset management industry, providing assurance services primarily to unit trusts and asset managers.
Aside from her technical role, Fiona is a strong advocate of the D&I agenda, harnessing her passion for coaching and mentoring through her role as Talent leader within the Guernsey office. In her new role, Fiona will continue to drive the firm’s ambition to become the most favoured employer in the Channel Islands through her Talent leader position, focusing on the continued development of training and coaching programmes.
Fiona said: “I am delighted with the promotion and appreciative of EY’s supportive culture, flexibility and the partners for their mentoring throughout my career. This is a great new challenge and I look forward to being a part of the leadership team as the firm continues to grow.”
Richard Le Tissier, EY Assurance Partner in Guernsey, said: “Congratulations to Fiona on achieving this fantastic milestone in her career. Developing our people is a vital part of our growth strategy, and Fiona’s appointment to the leadership team reflects not only our growing ambition in the Channel Islands, but also our confidence in the long-term outlook for the local economy. Fiona’s extensive knowledge of the local market, combined with her commitment, professionalism, ambition and experience, will be a critical factor in continuing to grow our business in the Channel Islands.”
