Over 60 individuals have taken the next step in their careers with EY across the Channel Islands, ranging from associate, right through to director.

Nicoline Armatas, Rea Mae Hubierna and Christian Robinson have all been promoted to Assurance Senior Manager, while Phil Irvine has been promoted to Senior Tax Manager.

A number of manager promotions have also been announced across the firm, with Andrene Anderson, Erika Gloria, Ann Gonzales, Alice McCann, Marvin Protacio and Werner Van Zyl all being promoted to Assurance Manager. Corne Bodenstein has been promoted to manager in the Tax team, while Rahul Kini and Deon Van Vuuren have been promoted to manager within the IT Risk team.

These promotions are in addition to EY’s recent leadership promotions, which saw Jo Bold, Mark Halliwell, Adam Knight and David Mosley progress to Director, reflecting EY’s continuing growth within the Channel Islands.

Andrew Dann, EY’s Channel Islands Managing Partner, said; “We are pleased to announce such a significant number of promotions and progressions across the firm this October. These promotions are a reflection of the exceptional client service they continue to provide our clients and a testament to each individuals commitment. During what has been a challenging time for many, it’s great to be able to reward so many of our people for their hard work and also continue to grow our business across the Channel Islands.”

Nicoline became a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) in 2014. She has a wealth of experience within assurance and exposure to accounting standards and local regulatory requirements for financial statement. She focuses on private equity and funds audits. In her new role, Nicoline will be more involved with growing EY’s business locally through business development activities, as well as mentoring new mangers and assistant managers as they progress through the firm.

Rea Mae is a Certified Public Accountant both in the Philippines and Australia and joined EY’s Guernsey office in 2019. She focuses predominantly on private equity, real estate clients and London Stock Exchange listed investment companies. She has significant experience in assurance and advisory services from her time spent in Singapore prior to joining EY in Guernsey. She is also experienced in conducting compliance reviews for regulatory obligations. She has recently undertaken a secondment in this area to assist a client with meeting their AML and CFT requirements. In her new role, Rea will continue to focus on funds and support clients with their regulatory requirements.

Christian has experience working in both London and the Channel Islands, having joined EY’s Jersey office from EY London in 2017. Since joining EY Jersey, Christian has served clients in the Banking, Wealth & Asset Management and Telecommunications sector whilst also working on a number of regulatory due diligence and AML compliance projects as a member of EY’s Extended Assurance team in the Channel Islands.

In his new role, Christian will initially be working with banking clients to assess the impact of potential changes to the regulatory environment over the coming years. In addition to serving clients, he will be working with colleagues on-island to assess how the local business can reduce its carbon footprint, as well as supporting the wider EY network in implementing a number of social value initiatives in Jersey.

Phil joined EY in 2012 as a trainee upon graduating from Northumbria University, where he studied Finance and Investment Management. A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Phil has extensive experience in providing personal tax and corporate tax compliance and advisory services, including advising on the Jersey economic substance legislation. In his new role, Phil will be helping clients to navigate the ever-evolving tax environment, whilst continuing to provide support and mentorship to the tax team.
