EVie trials off-peak tariff across Channel Islands, helping affordable and sustainable mobility

EVie is launching a new off-peak weekday rate on its vehicles, designed to offer greater access and flexibility.

The initiative is part of EVie’s ongoing mission to provide cost-effective and sustainable transportation solutions in Jersey and Guernsey.

Starting on the 8th of July 2024, EVie will introduce an off-peak tariff system, managed through their app. Users booking vehicles from Monday to Thursday will enjoy reduced rates, saving up to 30% compared to peak rates from Friday to Sunday. This marks the first increase in peak rates in over 18 months, driven by rising cost pressures. The goal with this initiative is to lower the entry barrier to eco-friendly transportation, encourage broader adoption and maximise the productive use of shared assets, thereby reducing waste.

EVie continues to expand its fleet across both islands, with over 50 vehicles expected to be live by the end of 2024.

“EVie’s mission is to offer environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and convenient transportation options,” said Nick Perchard-Rees, CEO of EVie. “Our new pricing model and flexible fleet make it easier for users to save money and contribute to a cleaner, safer environment. Both islands are fortunate to have a service like EVie that they can be proud of, supporting islanders amid rising living costs and positively impacting road safety and environmental sustainability. We’re collaborating across the islands with businesses and partners such as Guernsey Post, Andium, Guernsey Housing Association and Digital Jersey, providing technology-led, environment focused travel options and supporting the community in meaningful ways.”
