Data Driven Guernsey Week is set to bring a week of data events to the Digital Greenhouse.

On Monday 26th April, The Digital Greenhouse will be kicking-off a series of events for the first Data Driven Guernsey Week, sponsored by Frontier Economics. Data Driven Guernsey week aim is to inspire people to develop their skills and understanding of data. The ambition is that these ‘taster’ sessions will be, for some, the first steps in a new career in the growing field of data science.

The week is being organised and based in the Digital Greenhouse, co-constructed by a range of industry experts, government and support agencies including; Frontier Economics, Prosperity 24/7, Barclays Eagle Labs, Office of the Data Protection Authority, First Central Group, Cortex, Black Vanilla and Sure. This pan-sector approach has led to a diverse week of free, breakfast lunchtime and evening events.

  • The week kicks off on Monday 26th April with Shaping the future – Data, Evidence, Action on Monday morning featuring a Keynote from Adrian Lewis, Lead Guernsey Associate and Matthew Bell, Head of Policy at Frontier Economics.
  • Tuesday morning will be focused on Innovations in Intelligent Automation with a virtual talk from Deloitte and then at lunchtime there will be a virtual Data Driven Design session for those looking to develop their skills in the area with Barclays Eagle Labs.
  • Wednesday will open with another virtual session with Deloitte discussing harnessing the value of ESG Data. Wednesday lunchtime will feature a panel discussion with experts from Frontier Economics, Sure, ODPA, Cortex and Black Vanilla talking about the different opportunities that using data gives and the key considerations to be made.
  • Thursday will begin with a virtual event with Rob Woodhard, Consultant at Frontier Economics talking about the technical side of data driven decision making. At lunchtime Barclays Eagle Labs will be holding a speed networking event bringing together a range of different businesses. In the afternoon Carl Sargeson will be hosting a virtual fireside chat talking about the upskilling opportunities in the upcoming Digital Leadership Bootcamp. Thursday will finish with individuals from across the tech and digital sectors will be coming together for the evening Tech-Mex networking event at the Lions Den above the Golden Lion which is kindly sponsored by Prosperity 24/7.
  • The week will conclude with the monthly Innovation Lab hosted by the Digital Greenhouse and focusing on empathy and humanity in leadership in a world of data.

Lucy Kirby (Director, Digital Greenhouse) “This is an exciting opportunity to bring together a range of local and international thought leaders, sharing innovation in the creation and use of data. This year the events will be held in blended formats, with options to attend in person or virtually, making the best use of tech to keep our community connected.”
