Santander International is bringing three former Lions to Jersey this summer to help The British and Irish Lions 2021 Tour of South Africa continue with a roar.
Lawrence Dallaglio, Rory Best, and Rob Henderson will be in Jersey at the rugby club to provide commentary at Lions’ games on Saturday 24th July, Saturday 31st July, and Saturday 7th August.
Islanders are invited to watch the games from a big screen on the pitch at Stade Santander International. Entry will be free, with BBQ buffet food available, along with seated consumption of drinks from the bar.
There will also be entertainment for all the family, with inflatables, and face painting for children, and live music before the games kick off at 5pm.
James Pountney, Chief Executive Officer, Santander International, said: “We were delighted to be able to help support The Lions during their training visit to Jersey earlier this summer and we know how invested Islanders are in getting behind the team and enjoying the games.
“As former Lions, Lawrence Dallaglio, Rory Best, and Rob Henderson know better than anyone what the team will be going through as they go out for their games and are ideally placed to provide an insightful commentary, before, during, and indeed after the games. Rugby transcends ages, genders, and nationalities, and the events are designed to give all the family the opportunity to get together and enjoy the games.”
As partners of The British and Irish Lions and the Castle Lager Lions Series in South Africa, Santander International will also be hosting a series of events around the games, including tours of the Strive Academy, where the team trained, and other activities with the ex-Lions to showcase the Island.
The summer schedule includes commentary from Lawrence Dallagio on Saturday 24th July, Rory Best on Saturday 31st July, and Rob Henderson on Saturday 7 August. Gates open at the Stade Santander International at Jersey Rugby Club from 3pm. To book your free place please click here.
