HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man and law firm Appleby will be hosting an International Women’s Day-inspired event, entitled ‘Breaking free’.
Open to anyone, the virtual event on 26th March will feature a panel of professionals from a range of industries in Jersey, including Sue Fox who is CEO of HSBC in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, James Gaudin, Managing Partner at Appleby in Jersey, Lisa Springate, Chair of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Jersey and Head of Legal and Technical at Jersey Finance and Allam Zia, Director, Transformation & Change at BDO Greenlight. Jess Dunsdon will be facilitating the panel discussion.
The event builds on this year’s International Women’s Day official theme, ‘Choose to Challenge’, and aims to encourage both women and men alike to call out gender bias and inequality, break down barriers and face self-limiting beliefs.
Commenting ahead of the event, HSBC’s Sue Fox said: “This event we’re hosting with Appleby is a chance to understand where we are still facing challenges in Jersey as well as celebrate progress. I look forward to the conversation with the panel and attendees – by sharing our experiences and ideas we can all make a difference towards a more inclusive workplace”.
James Gaudin of Appleby also commented: “It is a privilege to be working with HSBC on this event to continue to discuss the ways in which we can help break down barriers and support diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. By joining together to host this event, we hope to bring together people from across different businesses and sectors to continue this important discussion”.
