A free seminar will be held on 7th October 2020 exploring the Guernsey requirements of the secondary pension’s legislation and it impact HR and people matters.
Secondary pensions are due to be introduced in Guernsey from 1st January 2023 as set out in the Government Work Plan.
Under the new legislation, employers will need to automatically enrol their eligible employees and pay minimum contributions into a qualifying pension scheme which is expected to be effective initially for employers with more than 26 employees. A later phased introduction is anticipated depending on the number of employees each employer has.
The one-hour seminar, will outline the requirements in a straight forward manner, and focus on the impact to businesses, and the solutions available for companies.
The seminar will also offer practical tips for employers and businesses, both big and small, to consider regarding the contractual and policy implications of the changes and the processes needed for employers to undertake to ensure they follow best practice and employment legislation.
The seminar hosted by Focus HR will be delivered by guest speaker and pension industry specialist John Martin, Partner, BWCI and John Ioannou-Droushiotis HR Consultant at Focus HR.
Becky Machon, Director and Owner Focus HR said, “We are very pleased to have John Martin of BWCI, with his wealth of pension knowledge and understanding of the local pension landscape as our guest speaker. We wished to combine this event with the HR and people implications, as there are many aspects which are going to be impacted by the new scheme and considerations need to be taken in relation to contracts and employee policies, consultation processes and payroll systems.
John Martin (pictured) added, “I am delighted to be asked by the Focus HR to spea4k at this seminar. Businesses need to start planning for the introduction of secondary pensions and the seminar will provide very useful information for employers.”
The breakfast seminar is taking place at 8:00am on Thursday 7th October 2021. Reserve your place here.
