Two lawyers in Ogier’s Guernsey office – Chris Hards and Diana Rodriguez – have been recognised as rising stars of the private client profession in the 2024 eprivateclient NextGen Leaders list.
The annual list by eprivateclient published this week (9 September) recognises, introduces, and promotes outstanding professionals and talent based in the UK and UK Crown Dependencies. The definitive list of leading private client practitioners is in its second year, having replaced the organisation’s Top 35 Under 35 list to reflect the changing trends in the modern workplace.
Chris is a managing associate in Ogier’s Private Wealth team in Guernsey. He advises on all aspects of trust and foundation law to individuals, fiduciaries and other service providers. Chris also has experience in advising on international pensions and the application of UK taxation to offshore individuals, corporates, and trust structures. Recognised in leading legal directories as an ‘associate to watch’, he is described as ‘a credit not just to the firm but to the profession’.
Diana (main picture) is a senior associate in Ogier’s Private Wealth team in Guernsey. She advises on a range of non-contentious and semi-contentious matters, including succession and estate planning, and trusts in commercial and philanthropic contexts. Committed to her clients and the local community, Diana is the team’s go-to advisor for charities and helped shape Guernsey’s charity legislation. A dedicated member of Ogier’s Diversity and Inclusion network, Diana is passionate about removing barriers to entry to the legal profession and creating inclusive workspaces.
Global head of Private Wealth Matt Guthrie said: “Congratulations to Chris and Diana. This accolade is a tremendous achievement as it follows Chris and Diana’s inclusion on the 2024 eprivateclient Crown Dependencies NextGen Leaders list earlier this summer. Their inclusion within the wider geographical category is a true testament to their technical acumen, exceptional client service, and dedication to their team and colleagues. We look forward to seeing their continued success with Ogier.”
