Digital Jersey has been named best digital brand and awarded for its public relations strategy at a major industry event.
The agency, which supports Jersey’s growing digital sector, picked up double honours at the Citywealth Brand Management & Reputation Awards 2019 in London.
It was recognised for its work to promote the island’s tech-based industry at the end of a year which included a complete rebrand, the launch of a new website, and the creation of Jersey TechWeek and the inaugural TechAwards which celebrated the island’s digital success.
The awards saw global brands bidding for top honours, with Digital Jersey winning in the two categories for which it was nominated and shortlisted: The gold award for Digital Brand of the Year and the bronze award for Best Overall PR.
Digital Jersey’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Kelly Barker, was at the ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House to receive the awards.
She said: “The work of my team is very much a ‘behind the scenes’ one focused on championing the work of Digital Jersey, our members, and the island’s wider tech sector. To be recognised and to win, in categories that included world-renowned businesses, is such an honour.”
Digital Jersey CEO, Tony Moretta, said: “Since the relaunch last year I’ve been really proud of our new brand identity and website and so it’s really great to have this recognised externally. I’d like to thank Kelly and her team for their efforts, day in day out, and I know they’re already back hard at work delivering our ambitious plans for 2019.”
“They include work to promote our Sandbox Jersey testbed internationally and the soon-to-be-opened Digital Jersey Academy which will help us train and retrain a whole new generation of digitally skilled people who can continue to help the island’s economy grow and thrive.”
