DFDS has released its sailing schedule between Jersey and St Malo in France, offering islanders the opportunity to plan their immediate travel and family holidays.
The timetable will see a ferry operate between Jersey and St Malo five days a week up, completing a total of eight rotations each week up until May, when there will be daily crossings to accommodate peak season demand. Passengers will travel to France on board the Tarifa Jet, a high-speed ferry that can accommodate over 700 travellers and up to 175 vehicles (Condor Voyager has capacity for 850 passengers and 235 cars).
DFDS has worked closely with St Malo port authorities and local industry bodies and community groups in drafting the sailing schedule, recognising the importance of route to the island’s tourism and hospitality sector and the requirement for accommodating sporting events and fixtures. The ferry company remains committed to delivering a flexible service that works for everyone, with the ability to add extra sailings when demand requires.
Chris Parker, Route Director for Jersey, said: “These schedules emphasise our commitment to providing a dependable and efficient service for all travellers, with the options for day trips or longer holidays.
“We would like to thank islanders for their patience while we have been finalising our schedules to France. We will continue to enhance our services over the coming months to ensure we are best serving the island.”
Kirsten Morel, Jersey’s Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, said: “I am excited about the opportunities that our new partnership with DFDS will bring. Improved connectivity to France should be of benefit to us all.
“Our social, cultural and economic relationships with Brittany and Normandy are of great value and this schedule will allow us to strengthen those ties.”
Bookings for all services will open by 31st January and DFDS will be running a joint campaign with Visit Jersey to promote travel to the island.
