de Gruchy launches Tree of Hope to support Freeda this Christmas
Share on LinkedInTwitterFacebookEmail

de Gruchy is inviting its customers to help make this Christmas an extra special one for women and families supported by Freeda.

A handmade ‘Tree of Hope’ is standing in the store’s Arcade, offering a simple way for the islanders to show support.

The tree will be decorated with individual gift tags, each featuring a suggested item that can make a real difference to someone supported by Freeda, either in their safe house or in the community.

Customers are encouraged to choose a tag, purchase the matching gift in store and leave it at the concierge desk on the ground floor. All donations will be collected, wrapped and distributed by the Freeda team in time for Christmas.

Suggested gifts include towel sets, robes, slippers, house socks, pyjama sets, bed throws, diffusers, soap, candles and hand wash, as well as items such as hairdryers and hair straighteners.

Each donation will help provide day-to-day essentials and small comforts that support women and families rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse.

Simon Youden, Store Director at de Gruchy said: “Christmas can be a difficult .me for many families and we hope that our Tree of Hope will encourage the community to come together and support those who need it most. Our customers are always incredibly generous, and even the smallest gift can make a real difference to the women and families Freeda supports. We’re proud to offer a simple and meaningful way for Islanders to spread kindness this festive season.”
