Guernsey enjoyed a total of 282,028 visitors throughout 2025, according to data from the latest annual Travel and Visitor Accommodation Report.

This number is estimated to have contributed around £151m to the island’s economy – a £10m increase from 2024.

The annual Travel and Visitor Accommodation Report is published early in the calendar year to provide information and statistics on travellers into and out of the island – as well as the accommodation they stayed in during their visit – across the year.

The island enjoyed 17,411 more visitors travelling via plane, ferry, or yacht throughout 2025 compared with 2024, the large majority of which landed at the airport. Despite a reduction in cruise visitors the island still saw a net increase in total visitors during this time, with a 31% increase in day-trippers arriving via plane or ferry, over 7,000 more overnight stayers, and over 11,000 more visitors coming over from France.

The majority of survey respondents visiting the island stated leisure as their primary reason for travelling. 85% of all leisure visitors cited that the natural beauty of the island and its beaches are what attracted them, while 56% cited its history and heritage, and for 31% the reason was its proximity to Herm, Sark, Alderney, and Jersey – citing the ability to ‘island hop’.

Guernsey’s Net Promotor Score (NPS), which shows how likely visitors are to recommend the island to a friend or relative, reached its highest ever score of 71 in the latter half of 2025 – averaging at 68 throughout the year. This is an increase of 13 points from 2024 and seven points from 2023.

Deputy Lee Van Katwyk, Tourism Lead for the Committee for Economic Development, said: “This latest data suggests our ongoing efforts to strengthen visitor links with neighbouring jurisdictions is continuing to bear fruit. 2025 was a key year for tourism in the island, largely thanks to increased ferry services via Brittany Ferries, more emphasis on marketing the island to our French neighbours, and greater collaboration across our local tourism industry. The Committee is continuing to build on this positive momentum with exciting initiatives such as the Big Eat Festival, an expansion of our cruise ship schedule, and the reintroduction of British Airways which will all help to make for another successful tourist season in 2026.”
