Dancing in Jersey launches comprehensive Online Hub for Dance Enthusiasts

Thanks to funding from the One Foundation, the non-profit organisation Dancing in Jersey has announced the official launch of its new website, designed to celebrate and promote Jersey’s diverse dance culture.

Founded by local dancer Hayley Routier, this innovative online platform features Jersey’s only comprehensive and up-to-date dance directory, showcasing the island’s diverse range of dance organisations and their offerings. The website also features a calendar of dance events, including workshops, and performances happening across the island, along with a dedicated page for local dance news. Dance enthusiasts can join the Dancing in Jersey Facebook group to engage and
connect with like-minded individuals.

“Dance is a universal language that brings people together”, said Hayley Routier, Founder of Dancing in Jersey. “My goal is to ensure that every islander and visitor is aware of the incredible dance opportunities Jersey has to offer, and to support the growth of our vibrant dance community.”

Dancing in Jersey launched on Facebook in January 2022, and in January 2024, Hayley was successful in securing funding from the One Foundation for the website build.

Ben Cooke, Founder and Chairman of the One Foundation, confirmed how proud they are to support the creation of the Dancing in Jersey website: “Anyone across our island, who is interested in participating in dancing of any kind, should be able to access this new ‘go to’ Jersey dance directory.

“This website is about creating opportunities for people of all ages who feel inspired to get involved in dancing, whether for exercise, fun social interaction or simply trying to learn a new skill, to find the right opportunity to go for it and give it a try!”

Hayley added: “Funding from the One Foundation has been imperative to the growth of Dancing in Jersey, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the team’s support. Now that the website has finally launched, I am going to focus my efforts on organising collaborative dance events to raise money for local charities, which is one of the objectives of the organisation.”
