Ctrl Alt has secured two licences from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, adding regulated fiduciary and digital transfer agency capabilities to its tokenisation offering.
The licences are held by a newly established regulated Guernsey entity, Ctrl Alt Corporate Services, which will support the administration of its tokenisation offerings.
The Fiduciary Licence covers corporate administration, directorship and governance services for its vehicles, while the Protection of Investors Licence permits Ctrl Alt to act as registrar and digital transfer agent for investment fund and vehicle interests, covering administration, subscription and registration.
This marks Ctrl Alt’s fourth regulatory licence globally. It joins authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK, a Virtual Asset Service Provider licence from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, where Ctrl Alt was the first provider authorised to conduct issuer services, and authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland, announced last month.
Together, the Guernsey licences and existing authorisations cover the operational lifecycle of a tokenised asset, from structuring and issuance to distribution and management.
The digital transfer agency moves the maintenance of registers, a traditionally manual function, onto digital systems. By embedding distributed ledger technology into the register and administration processes, Ctrl Alt can maintain digital registers as the authoritative record of ownership.
The fiduciary capability applies the same operating model to the structuring, directorship and governance of its vehicles.
Initially inward-facing, these functions will form part of Ctrl Alt’s tokenisation process, supporting its tokenized investment structures, funds and programmes across global markets.
The authorisation builds on Ctrl Alt’s presence in Guernsey, a jurisdiction used for funds, fiduciary services and vehicle structures.
Matt Ong (pictured), Founder and CEO at Ctrl Alt, said: “We’ve been operating in Guernsey for some time now, and we’re delighted to be deepening that relationship with this authorisation.
“Guernsey’s depth in investment funds and corporate services, along with the GFSC’s constructive engagement with digital finance, made it a natural choice for our fourth authorisation. We look forward to putting these capabilities to work across our tokenization initiatives in the months ahead.”
